This is kind of a random post but I like these two songs and their videos a lot. They make me miss being a teenager.
Smashing Pumpkins – 1979

When it comes to moments in rock and roll, I enjoy chaos, intelligence, rebellion, confidence, and talent. One of these moments was when The Doors performed “Light My Fire” on the Ed Sullivan Show.
I’m a sucker for really bad 80’s movies. This probably takes the cake for most ridiculous scene ever. The acting, the concept, the outfits, the dialogue are all so over the top.
It also inspired a hilarious skit by Andy Samberg and the guys at “The Lonely Island” before they got picked up by SNL.
These music videos are filmed in one shot. The camera never cuts. This style has seemed to grow recently in popularity. These are a few of my favorites.
Lucas – Lucas With the Lid Off
Weezer – Undone (The Sweater Song)
Vampire Weekend – Oxford Comma
Feist – I Feel it All
Spoon – The Underdog
I just thought it was cool to have these two clips back to back. It’s crazy how your world can be flipped upside down.
Spike Jonze is a huge favorite of mine. His upcoming release for “Where the Wildthings Are” is definitely one of my most anticipated releases in recent memory.

I feel like this commercial he did for Adidas really showed where he could take a child-like fantasy.
I always try to picture my favorite directors and actors at work. Wonder how they think, prep, execute, and deliver. I don’t know how much truth is in this performance by Scorcese, but it is phenomenal.
I don’t need to say anything about Radiohead. They’ve already conquered the world. These are my ten favorite music videos.
10. Paranoid Android
9. There There
8. High and Dry
7. I Might be Wrong
6. Fake Plastic Trees
5. No Surprises
4. Just
3. Street Spirit
2. Knives Out
1. Karma Police
Spike Jonze directed this commercial for a local Gap’s renovation. That guy knows how to have fun.
This scene is from 2005’s “The Protector”. Tony Jaa scales a giant flight of stairs, taking out anyone in his way. The amazing part is that the shot doesn’t cut once in 3 minutes and 55 seconds. The choreography, endurance, stunt work, and camera work are all phenomenal.
